Alex M. - Crew
Alex started sailing at a young age in Florida in Optimists and 420s and gradually moved into larger boats, including TP52s and a Super Maxi. Sailing has brought incredible experiences into his life, and Alex enjoys sharing those with others and bringing new people into the world of sailing.

Andrew N. - Captain
Andrew holds a USCG 200 GRT license and has been sailing former America’s Cup boats since he was 17. He has gained years of experience both at the wheel and on lines. In addition to his sailing career, Andrew works in the marine sciences and has conducted research on every ocean.

Bee H.
Bee and her husband used to own the America’s Cup boats Stars & Stripes USA11 and Il Moro di Venezia ITA16. She is a wealth of knowledge for America’s Cup history. Bee recently joined the Maritime Museum as a docent and truly enjoys sharing her vast knowledge of San Diego's rich maritime history.

Bill H. - Crew
Bill is a former sailing instructor and avid sailor. He crewed on the 12-meter yachts Stars & Stripes US-56, America II, and Heart of America, and has sailed on a variety of other boats. Bill is now mostly racing on a Sydney 38 out of Dana Point.

Casey G. - Crew
Casey grew up sailing on Lake Michigan and moved to study at San Diego State University in 2019. He is the Program Director & Head Coach of SDSU’s Sailing Team and races locally on Pyewacket. Casey also works as designer and sales rep for custom gear.

Chris is an avid racer in the J/24 fleet and a professional sailing coach. He was selected as Yachtsman of the Year 2025 for his unwavering support of the local J/24 fleet and the manner in which he accomplishes his successes.

Cory R. - Crew
Cory started sailing at the University of Iowa in the mid-1990s on FJs and Lasers and now races in San Diego on a J/105. He works as a sailing and windsurfing instructor and holds a USCG OUPV License. Cory logged 12,000+ NM and owned various sailboats over the last 25 years.

Dave M. - Crew
David has been sailing the waters of Southern California for decades. When not crewing on other boats, David can be found sailing his beloved Zephyr, a 1986 Newport 33, with friends and family or fly fishing the rivers of the Western United States.

Glen C. - Crew
Glen holds a USCG 200 GRT license and has been sailing former America’s Cup boats USA34 Stars&Stripes, USA55 Abracadabra, USA1 America, USA11 Stars&Stripes, ITA16 Il Moro di Venezia and USA50 Abracadabra as crew and USA11 and ITA16 as captain. He learned to sail as a teenager in Southwest Florida and has raced on various yachts.

Hunter B. - Crew
Hunter is an avid young sailor pursuing racing professionally. He is active in multiple one-design fleets and races offshore with several big boats on the West and East coast, and in the Great Lakes.

Hunter S. - Crew
Hunter is a retired software engineer and has raced a large variety of boats. In 1988 Hunter supported the America’s Cup here in San Diego as a member of the DEC technical team, providing computer and network support. Hunter also formerly crewed on Stars & Stripes USA11 and ll Moro di Venezia ITA16.

Janis A. - Crew
Janis has spent over 20 years leading Customer and Employee Experience, and today she shares her expertise as a global conference speaker and facilitator. She loves new adventures at sea, serving as crew aboard Abracadabra.

Jeff V. - Crew
Jeff competes in local, national, and world sailing events in various one design classes. He holds a USCG 100 GRT OUPV license. Jeff’s experience ranges from commissioning and rigging boats to deliveries and day charters (whale watching, eco tours).

Juan L. - Crew
Juan has been sailing catamarans in the Caribbean and Polynesia since 2015 and started racing in San Diego a few years ago. He enjoys outdoor activities, has a private pilot license and works as a molecular virologist.

Mark S. - Captain
Mark holds a USCG 200 GRT license and is a pro sailor. Since 1997, he has competed for 10 years on America's Cup teams, including Abracadabra in 2000. He has done 4 US Olympic trials in the Star boat, finishing 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 9th. Mark has won a World Championship and 9 National Championships in various boats. He has been competing internationally in over 40 countries on boats ranging from 22 to 130 feet.

Nathan B. - Crew
Nathan is a former trial attorney, now semi-retired and enjoys racing in the J105 one design fleet, surfing and hiking. He volunteers with the Sierra Club advocating for the protection of marine mammals and conservation of coastal habitats.

Robert P. - Crew
Robert has 35+ years sailing experience racing a variety of boats across PHRF, ORC and One Design classes. He has crewed on Stars & Stripes USA11 and Il Moro di Venezia ITA16. Robert is a former member of Berkeley and Mission Bay Yacht Clubs as well as a USCG certified seaman (1984).

Sabine holds a USCG 50 GRT license and is a US Sailing certified Keelboat Instructor. She started sailing former America's Cup boats with Il Moro di Venezia ITA16. In addition, Sabine teaches sailing professionally.

Sandy R. - Crew
Sandy has 20+ years of sailing experience in boats ranging from one design dinghies to large racing yachts and was on the varsity Offshore Sailing Team at the US Merchant Marine Academy. Sandy has been sailing and racing in Southern California since 2019.

Stephen holds a USCG 25 GRT OUPV license and has been working as a sailing coach and instructor for many years. He is a TransPac veteran and has raced in the Caribbean and offshore here in Southern California.

Tim holds a MCA Master 3000GT license and is a seasoned global sailor and humanitarian. He has sailed 250,000+ NM and spent a decade in corporate organizational development. Whether Tim is offshore or at the dock, his mission remains the same: create moments that matter, and memories that last a lifetime.

Victoria is an avid racer of a variety of boats in San Diego and has participated in international races to Mexico. She enjoys it so much, she is on the hunt to purchase a boat of her own.
